For me, there is just something about babies and mirrors! As a grown-up it is hard to imagine so much interest in our own faces, but babies just love to look at themselves. This is my favorite mirror photo of David, taken last month while he was in the tub (by far his favorite place to be!).

I Heart Faces: Best Face of 2010

Oh, it's so hard to decide! This week's challenge is the best face shot of 2010. I love this photo of Ruby in general, but it also shows what I've learned in the way of photography this year. 1. Sometimes photos look much better if you don't shoot the entire face. 2. Photos can definately be "over-edited". Sometimes a more simplistic edit lets the true beauty of the photo surface. Do you know the muffin man?

We celebrated "Noon Year's Eve" at the Children's Museum again this year. On the way home, we stopped in Greenwood for a snack at Starbucks. Jason got me a blueberry muffin which I attempted to eat while nursing. HA! David refused to nurse any more, helped me finish my muffin, and screamed until his sweet Daddy went in to get him his own blueberry muffin! So... Do you know the muffin man, whose name is David Main?

Thanks for the Memories: 2010

2010 was quite a memorable year! This post is dedicated to the most memorable moments (some good, some difficult) of our year. These are not necessarily my favorite photos, but each captures a very memorable time for all of us.

{January}

Eli wins the Tiger Cub Pinewood Derby.

{February}

The Colts go to the Super Bowl again.

{March}

Our family saw the Rockin Worship Roadshow in Indianapolis. On top of being our kiddos first concert, it was just an amazing worship experience.

{April}

We again attended Purdue's Bug Bowl, where our 3 year old girly girl held a trarancula and competed in cricket spitting!

{May}

May brought Eli's gum closure. Not a very pleasant experience, but very memorable.

{June}

June 2nd brought the 5th and final member to the Main family-- David Alexander.

{July}

In July I sent my baby to a 5 day, overnight camp for the first time. While there, he won his 4th trophy for the year for collecting the most printer/ toner cartridges of any camper.

{August}

In August we took all three children, including a 2 month old David, to Colorado for my cousin's wedding!

{September}

In September David started solid food. WOW! That's all I can say about that!

{October}

Halloween is always a favorite around here. One of my favorite memories this year was carving pumpkins Halloween morning. Ruby, who spits crickets and holds large spiders, would NOT touch pumpkin guts. HA!

{November}

One of my favorite parts of being a stay at home mom has been having the opportunity to be involved in my children's classrooms. This year I got to help with Ruby's classroom Thanksgiving feast (with David tagging along in the front carrier!).

{December}

For the second year, we delivered gifts for the Cheer Fund. It is a great way to teach our kids how blessed our family is.

I can't wait to see what memories are in store for us in 2011!

Wordless Wednesday: Wonder Woman

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

This is a "dough ornament" that was made for Jason by his Aunt Martha when he was a child. We have many of these dough ornaments, but each represents childhood Christmases to Jason.

This year we made the decision to simplify our holiday decorating. One way we did this was to each choose only 5 onaments to put on the tree. Of course, this allowed us to find our favorite, my treasured ornaments. Each of these ornaments has a story. Take a walk with me, and learn the signifigance of several of our ornaments.

This was an ornament made by Eli's day care for us the Christmas he was 6 months old.

This ornament says, "First Christmas Together". We purchased it on our honeymoon in Disney World in 1999.

This ornament was a party favor from the wedding of my dear friend Kim, four years ago today. Jason and I were the scripture readers in her wedding.

This ornament was made for my father, who is no deceased.

This ornament was given to us by my Aunt Sharon and Uncle Glenn on our first Christmas together. The picture was taken the day after our wedding at our gift opening celebration.

This ornament was originally intended to be a bookmark. It was made by Ruby and Jason on "Dad's Night" at First Presbyterian Preschool.

This is one of the several gold snowflake ornaments we have. My Grandma and Grandpa bought them each year from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. We have now inheritated quite a few. The best part to me, is how my grandpa has labeled each of their boxes with the year in his own handwriting.
